6 teams are off in Week 11. That means anyone rostering a starter from Atlanta Falcons, Cleveland Browns, or any of the others is thin in real ways. Stream a flex-eligible bench player who plays this week, draft an extra TE if you only run one starter, and look at your kicker and DST too. The chaos week separates prepared rosters from ones that scrape by.

These teams have their bye in Week 13 or Week 14, the run-up to fantasy playoffs. If you draft a star from one of them, plan for a critical week without them. The upside: their stars hit the actual fantasy championship round (Weeks 15-17) fresh and rested, which historically correlates with strong finishing kicks.

How to draft around byes
- Avoid same-bye QBs and TEs. If your starter and your only backup share a bye week, you eat a zero. Spread the bye risk across positions you only roster one of.
- Stack a streamer for chaos weeks. When six or more teams are off in the same week, your bench gets thin fast. Drafting one extra flex-eligible player is cheap insurance.
- Don't pay handcuff prices for bye coverage. A late-round backup at the same position usually costs less and covers two scenarios: bye weeks and injury fill-ins.
- Check kicker and DST byes too. They are the easiest to forget and the easiest to stream. If your kicker has a chaos-week bye, plan to stream that week now, not the night before.

Byes run from Week 5 through Week 14. Week 11 is the heaviest, with 6 teams off. Every team has exactly one bye.

What should I do during a bye week in fantasy football?▾
Replace each starter who is off with the best bench player whose team plays that week. If your bench is thin at a position, pick up a fill-in from waivers a few days early, before other managers with the same bye get there first. Leave the player on bye on your roster unless he is a fill-in himself.
Should I drop my kicker on a bye week?▾
Usually, yes, if you roster only one. A kicker on bye scores zero, and kickers are easy to replace: pick up one whose team plays that week, and switch back afterward if your regular kicker is still available and better. The same goes for a team defense.
